Evaluation of liver protein due to stress under 2,4-D intoxication in Channa punctatus (Bloch.).

The article presents a study which seeks to evaluates the toxicity of the weedicide, 2, 4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) on the biochemical alterations of the total protein in the liver of Channa punctatus (Bloch.). The study used short term static bioassay method to evaluate the median tolerance limit. Results revealed that the sub-lethal concentrations of 2,4-D alter the behavior of Charma punctatus and a decline in liver protein content.
