Abstract
- The article presents a study on lignin removal in waste waters from a pulp and paper mill in India by the two cyanobacteria species. The study used raw waste with lignin to analyze the growth of Chroococcus minutes and Phormidium ambiguum while carbonate-tartarate and tannin-lignin reagents were used for photocalorimetric estimation of the wood polymer. Results showed that levels of lignin and other waste water components were reduced by the two algae.
