Abstract
- The article presents a study which aims to determine the effects of cadmium (Cd) on the morphology and growth characteristics of Salvinia molesta. The study used Salvinia cultured in three percent solution, Cd, sulfuric acid (H2SO4), nitric acid (HNO3), and a Perkin-Elmer Corp. 2380 atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Results show that total chlorophyll content decreased and the plants exhibited cell collapse and basal cell shrinkage due to Cd exposure.
