Effects of formulated ethyl parathion on fertilization of the sea urchin Pseudechinus magellanicus (Philippi).

The article presents a study which investigated the influence of formulated ethyl parathion (F-DNTP) on the fertilization of Pseudechinus magellanicus, a sea urchin species gathered from Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. The study performed spawning, gametes handling, and bioassays on the sea urchin, and eggs were suspended to different concentrations of F-DNTP before sperm insemination. Findings revealed the significant effect of F-DNTP to sea urchin's fertilization rate.
