Abstract

The article presents a study which determines the concentration of cadmium, copper, lead and zinc in human renal cell calculi in samples collected in cadmium polluted areas and non-polluted areas in Hokuriku and Chugoku, Japan respectively. The study uses atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) to determine diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) complexes in the solution. Results suggest that cadmium content in renal calculi from a cadmium-polluted area was higher than non-polluted area.
