Abstract

The article discusses heart involvement from Lyme disease, and mentions that the spirochaete infection is not widespread in Great Britain. It discusses the stages and clinical features of Lyme carditis, and explains its diagnosis, prevention and treatment, which involves oral doxycycline or amoxicillin. The article concludes that recognized clinical features of erythema migrans and a history of exposure are necessary in making a diagnosis.
