The article looks at the increasing number of universities and colleges in the U.S. that are recognizing the need to offer courses related to information security (IS), in order to fill the computer industry's strong demand for IS professionals. It discusses the two important components to maintain the cyber security workforce. It also describes initiatives designed to lure students into security which include the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition and the U.S. Cyber Challenge.
