Abstract

The article presents the sister of author Charles Dickens named Letitia Austin, who was omitted from his will and condemned to poverty. It relates that the writer destroyed all the letters by Letitia to him. It examines the blank in the statement of Dickens and concludes that he desired to punish the woman who managed to retain a connection with his wife after he departed from her.
