Abstract
- The article discusses ways by which rub trees provide clues of whitetail buck presence. Big rubs are often signs of mature buck presence, along with large tracks, bedding thickets of does and food source. Rubs help hunters decide which tree to set up in and when to wait for a buck. Whitetail hunters often use rub lines to learn where mature bucks live and learn their travel patterns. Rub lines are used by deer to navigate their home range and find feeding areas.
