Abstract

The article summarizes recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on hepatitis B vaccination far adults with diabetes mellitus. It cites the severity of acute hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection among adults. Hepatitis B vaccines that are available in the U.S. are mentioned. Recommendations of the ACIP include the administration of hepatitis B vaccination to unvaccinated adults with diabetes mellitus who are aged 19-25 years old.
