Abstract
- The article reports that Interocean American Shipbuilding Corp. has received a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense for the operations and maintenance of a platform that will be deployed with the Sea-Based X-Band (SBX-1) radar. It is informed that the platform would be placed in the Pacific Ocean and will be a part of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense System (GMD) for long-range missile defense. Also, SBX-1 will provide information related to ballistic missiles to the GMD.
