Abstract
- The article discusses the philosophical viewpoints of the Czech theological and sociological thinker and writer Jan Amos Komenský. The article centers on Komenský's concept of the triad, which was derived from the Christian trinity and the teachings of Saint Augustinus. The article also discusses Komenský's view that man needs both knowledge of the world and faith. Topics include the influence of this concept in the Baltic countries in the form of pietism in Livonia, rationalism in Courland, and the Jesuit movement in Latgale.
