Abstract: The article reports on the amendment issued by the U.S. Department of Aviation regarding the safety of the Eurocopter model EC225LP helicopters. The airworthiness directive suggests inspecting sides of pilot and co-pilot seats for loose screw, nuts or washer failure of which can lead to detachment of seats during emergency landing. Effective date of this rule is November 14, 2011 and comments for any inclusion in the rule must be submitted by December 27, 2011.
