Abstract
- The article discusses the functions of the International Association of Department Stores. The author places emphasis in particular on "critical store visits," a process by which members of the association visit a department store within the association to provide suggestions for improvement. According to the author, visiting members are assigned to specialized committees, focusing on areas including general management and research, selling and sales promotion and finance and accounting. The author provides a list of perceived strengths and weaknesses of the process.
