Abstract

The article offers the author's insights on the writings of doctor John Shaw. The author states that the poems by Shaw that has been offered to the patronage of the public were composed of excellent qualities and extensive endowments. The author also discusses Shaw's probationary studies in Edinburgh, Scotland and his wanderings with Lord Selkirk in Upper Canada.
