Abstract

The article warns business executives in the United States about the dangers of political conservatism. The biggest problem of conservatism is that though it is on the surface pro-business, in practice many executives misinterpret the doctrine and champion causes that are not conservative. The appeal of conservatism to the business world is examined, along with the popular view of the country's founding fathers as conservatives. The author suggests that scapegoatism is antithetical to American conservatism, and details the legalism of the framers and advocates of the constitution.
