Abstract

The article reports on the essence of Internet Protocol (IP) in transporting high quality content to television and video devices in the U.S. It discusses the important techniques used to move to IP to bring benefits to video network operations including intelligent switching, advance forward error correction (FEC) and remultiplexing, monitoring and video compression. It tackles on the use of JPEG 2000 in IP video transport as well as its advantages.
