Abstract

The article discusses the role of management consultants in the business world. Consultants can be classified according to the nature of their services, which the most important tend to be incidental consultants, personal advisors, specialized consultants, and general consultants. The different conditions which could cause the employment of a managerial consultant are analyzed, with focus given toward various types of unsatisfactory performance. The contributions of what an executive should expect from a consultant are outlined including the diagnosis of causes for difficulty and education of the client's personnel. Economic expectations from using managerial consultants are also discussed.
