The article focuses on the positive impact of beverage container deposit programs on job creation in the U.S. It states that beverage container throughput is based on average recovery rates for state-based deposit return (CDR) systems, residential curbside recycling and disposal. It reports that beverage container deposit systems provide 11 to 38 times more direct jobs in comparison to curbside recycling systems for beverage containers.
