Abstract

The article speculates on U.S. price control policies in the immediate Post-World War II period. Experts contend that the immediate postwar period will be characterised by significant consumption. They say a large backlog of consumer purchasing desire will exist. At the same time experts predict that price control may face a strong opposition from U.S. consumers. They say a government price control policy will be needed however to prevent an immediate post-War price level rise and an eventual recession.
