Abstract

The article discusses the use of market research in reconverting industries to the production of consumer goods after World War II. The author notes that while during the war, many manufacturers were producing goods for one buyer, the United States government, after the war those industries will be forced to produce for millions of different buyers. According to the author, marketing research can be used to discover the potential markets for new products, to determine efficient ways of distributing these products and in the determination of sales territories and correlation of advertising and sales promotion.
