Abstract

In a very competitive textile industry, Right-First-Time in textile coloration supporting Dynamic Response offers an effective means of differentiating service and gaining competitive advantage. The importance of process design and optimisation to achieve Right-First-Time production is reviewed. New techniques for the acquisition of data that permit on-line monitoring of the key measures of dyestuff performance, neutral substantivity, secondary exhaustion, rate of fixation and rate of wash off are described for the application of Homo Bi-Functional reactive dyes to cellulose substrates. The data has been used for designing novel and highly productive dyeing and wash off profiles that meet the demands of the modern dyehouse. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
