Abstract
- The article provides advanced instruction for artists on how to master the art of tonal drawings. Particular focus is given to how tonal drawing enables artists to create realism in their artworks by depicting the illusion of mass. Various images of drawings with successful tonality are presented include "The Couple," by Georges Seurat, "Laura IV," by Ephraim Rubenstein and "Head of the Virgin in Three Quarter View Facing to the Right," by Leonardo da Vinci.
