Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to record the history of the visits of scientists sponsored by tobacco industry to Australia and the news reports regarding smoking and health matters generated from the visits. The study uses systematic keyword and internal documents of tobacco industry which were both made available through the Master Settlement Agreement. The study concluded that media reports on the said issue influences people to believe the uncertainty of evidences against smoking. INSET: What this paper adds.
