Abstract
- The article discusses a video artwork by artist Francesco Vezzoli which was shown as part of the exhibition "Sacrilegio," held at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City from February 5 to March 12, 2011. The video features Vezzoli's mother shown as the Virgin Mary. Comments from Vezzoli are presented which discuss his depiction of Madonnas as a result of obsession with maternity. Also discussed are Vezzoli's video artworks "Right You Are (If You think you are)" and the "Embroidered Trilogy."
