Abstract

The article presents information on a study which reported the spontaneous modification and use of sticks to fish for termites observed in one group of endangered Neotropical primates, wild blonde capuchins, Cebus flavius, living in a fragment of Atlantic Forest. Techniques utilized sequentially by the capuchins during termite fishing are nest tapping an stick rotation. The effectiveness of the fishing techniques used by the primates was also tested.
