Abstract

The article discusses the importance of money laundering and federal civil asset forfeiture statutes as the key enforcement strategy in the drug war in the U.S. for 21st century. It says that these strategies can counter drug-trafficking opportunity by increasing trafficking costs while decreasing enforcement costs. It adds that the statutes should be amended based on globalization to meet the demand the 21st century trade.
