Abstract

The article discusses a study of retinal ganglion-like cells from reprogrammed mouse fibroblasts. The study analyzed whether induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells express retinal progenitor cell (RPC) related marker genes. Results of immunofluorescence and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) revealed that both undifferentiated GFP-iPS-C5 and iPS-C6 cells expressed RPC-related genes. Authors also observed the formation of teratoma in the eyes of one mouse.
