RESEARCH IN THE CAPITAL AND SECURITIES MARKETS.

The article presents a report from the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research on a study that investigated capital and securities markets in the U.S. Several new areas for research were proposed, included among them the investment banking and securities businesses, investment holdings and flow of funds, pension funds, business financing policies, markets for government securities, security markets regulation, and the relationship between security/capital markets and economic vigor. Specifics for each are discussed.
