Abstract

The article discusses a survey by the British Department of Culture, Media and Sport which showed that more adults and children in England engage with and participate in the arts than with sports. Based on the measurement of free time activities, listening to music was the third most popular activity. Results also showed an increase in passive engagement with the arts and greater participation in the arts by children than that of adults.
