Abstract

An essay on modern contraceptives is presented. Long-acting, reversible contraceptives (LARCs) are cited as a boon for women. It cites that there is disparity in the number of female and male LARCs, and one of the reasons for this problem is men's diminished reproductive autonomy. It points out that male LARCs are needed because most of the current contraceptives target women's bodies. The barriers to the development of male contraceptives are listed including the scarcity of research funds.
