Abstract

The article summarizes the political, social and economic conditions in Brazil and its relationship with the U.S. Among the issues that the U.S. and Brazil jointly address are energy security, counterterrorism and human rights. Elected as the nation's first female president in 2010, Dilma Rousseff is said to adopt orthodox economic policies. It adds that Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America with an average of annual growth of more than 4%.
