Abstract

The article reports on the state of the global building materials sector in 2010 and offers an outlook for the industry in 2011. A mixed recovery in the demand for building materials was experienced in 2010, with surging demand in Asia, particularly China, as the key growth driver globally. It expects that China will remain a key growth driver of cement and steel demand, and that steel prices will trend higher.
