Abstract
- Methods of a wireless sensor concept for detecting and locating electrical system faults including phase-phase short circuit and single phase to earth are presented. The concept is based on hierarchical wireless sensor network (WSN) that is attached to the incoming and outgoing power lines of secondary substations. This paper discussed WSN topology structure and designed the WSN node's energy supply model, analyzed the theory of locating phase-phase short circuit fault and single phase to earth fault, verified the feasibility of the theory by simulation.
