Simplified version of Curzon-Ahlborn engine with general heat transfer.

The article presents a discussion on the principles of a simplified version of Curzon-Ahlborn engine with general heat transfer. It is stated that the effect of the ratio of heat transfer coefficients on the efficiency of the engine. Further, while the efficiency of the original engine at maximum power production is independent of the ration of heat transfer coefficients, the simplified version is not free from such ratio.
