Abstract

A study is discussed which shows that mean body mass index (BMI) and left ventricular mass indexed to height (LVMI) are higher in children who underwent echocardiography in 2008 than those who underwent the procedure between 1986 to 1989, thus highlighting the effects of the "obesity epidemic."
