Abstract
- The article discusses different ornamental and edible varieties of cucurbits in Great Britain. Recommended culinary cucurbits to grow include kiwano (Cucumis metulifer), summer squash (Cucurbita pepo) and bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria). Requirements for growing different cucurbits are also discussed including time of cultivation, heat requirements and the need for a polytunnel or glasshouse.
