Effects of ischemic pre- and postconditioning on HIF-1α, VEGF and TGF-β expression after warm ischemia and reperfusion in the rat liver.

The article reports on the effects of ischemic pre- and postconditioning on hypoxia inducible factor 1a (HIF-1a), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and transforming growth factor b (TGFb) in liver tissue by testing on rat liver. It states that 28 rats were characterized from preconditioning to postconditoning ischemic. Results suggested that ischemic conditioning prevent HIF-1a mRNA entrance in the rat liver.
