Abstract
- In this study, by using financial ratios of the private sector commercial banks and participation banks from financial statements for 2005 December to 2007 December, a profitability analysis, which aims to measure these banks' financial performance is made. Firstly, financial ratios are selected, after coefficients are calculated by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP is run for each bank and bank performances are obtained. According to the result of the study, Akbank among commercial banks and Bank Asya among participation banks had best financial performance. AHP is introduced as a decision making tool for the evaluation of investment alternatives in the banking sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
