Abstract
- In the June 1973 issue of this Journal Neville Cain summarised Australian economic thought of the 1920s as it related to the tariff. His interpretation reflected a widespread presumption that the so-called Brigden Report of 1929 employed the 'Australian Case for Protection' as narrowly defined in modern international trade theory. The purpose of this paper is to show that the 1929 Report did not, in fact, employ the 'Australian Case' thus defined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
