Introduction to Forging Family: Legal Documents as New Kinship Technologies.

An introduction is presented in which the editor discusses various reports within the issue on topics including the distinction between relational kinship and substantive kinship, the different traditions of legal ethnography, and the documentary inscription of slippages and mis-translations during divorce and marriage proceedings.
