Abstract

The article analyzes the Pravda political-cartoon. Professor Edward F. Danowitz of Rollins College suggested that his class to translate and explicate the Pravda political-cartoon output for 1982. Each Pravda cartoon is like an illustrated slogan than a playful conceit. The Pravda cartoon is also therapeutic as it can externalize government malice or domestic unrest. It consisted of 25 cartoons on U.S.-Israeli collusion, eleven about American involvement in Latin America, and ten about South Africa.
