Abstract

trans-Di­bromo­bis(5- tert-butyl­pyrazole- N<superscript>2</superscript>)copper(II), trans-[CuBr<subscript>2</subscript>(Hpz<superscript> tBu</superscript>)<subscript>2</subscript>] (Hpz<superscript> tBu</superscript> is 5- tert-butyl­pyrazole, C<subscript>7</subscript>H<subscript>12</subscript>N<subscript>2</subscript>), ex­hibits a distorted square-planar geometry with a significant tetrahedral twist, while trans-di­bromo­tetrakis(5- tert-butyl­pyrazole- N<superscript>2</superscript>)copper(II), trans-[CuBr<subscript>2</subscript>(Hpz<superscript> tBu</superscript>)<subscript>4</subscript>], adopts a distorted octahedral geometry across a crystallographic inversion centre. Both compounds exhibit intramolecular N-H⋯Br hydrogen-bonding interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
