Abstract
- The article discusses a study on the role of muscular mass in the human inguinal hernia. A contractile and two elastic elements were included in the Hill-Maxwell model used to simulate muscular movements. The muscular mass was varied in the direction orthogonal to the muscular fibre in the study. Results showed a direct dependence between the possibility of suffering a hernia and the distance between the origin of the fibres and the tubercle of the pubis.
