Abstract

The article offers information on the history of the International Association of Psychotechnology (IAP) and the development of the science of psychotechnology. It relates that Italian Ugo Pizzoli administered the tests of professional aptitude in 1901, while Hamburg, Germany-based professor William Stern coined the term psychotechnology in 1903. It explores the participation of Americans on IAP and its conferences. The article also discusses the association between psychotechnology and sociotechnology.
