Abstract

The article analyzes the ecumenical thinking of theologian John Wesley in terms of Christian faith, unity, evangelism and mission. It looks into the basic principles of ecumenical action proposed by Wesley, including the distinction between true religion and opinions. It examines the factors in the life and thought of Wesley which proved solvents of his initial bigotry. It also investigates his translation of ecumenism from objective doctrine to Christian experience and practice.
