Abstract

The article discusses a study on the reliability of fine-needle aspiration (FNA) for high-grade sarcoma (HGS). The researchers examined their cytopathology database from March 2001 to January 2007, and determined all FNA cases diagnosed as HGS. It was found out that a cytopathologic diagnose of HGS was accurate in 88 of 97 cases with follow-up. Moreover, a FNA biopsy diagnose of HGS seems to be clinically reliable in a number of cases when used in collaboration with the orthopedic team.
