Abstract
- The article discusses a study which evaluated the effects of 6 weeks post-season detraining in relation to player position on certain anaerobic, aerobic and anthropometric characteristics in sub-elite rugby union players. In the study, 34 English National Division One rugby players were assessed for body mass, sum of 7 skinfolds, and countermovement 6 weeks after post-seasonal break. The study concluded that six weeks of detraining led to changes in aerobic and anaerobic performance variables in national league rugby union players.
