Characterization of novel quaternary chitosan derivative nanoparticles loaded with protein.

The article discusses a study which investigated the characterization of quaternary chitosan derivative [O-(2-hydroxyl) propyl-3-trimethyl ammonium chitosan chloride (O-HTCC)] nanoparticle system. Particular focus is given to the preparation of O-HTCC nanoparticles using an ionic gelation method. Results of the study showed that O-HTCC nanoparticles have exhibited lower burst release and that they are affected by the bovine serum albumin (BSA) concentration.
