Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined the preparation of a series of epoxy resin (EP) composites using ground pearl shell powders. It notes that the highest impact strength was found in the EP composite with calcined pearl shell powder. Results of the study showed that the properties such as specific surface area, surface morphological structure and chemical composition of the powder have influenced the impact strengths of the EP composites.
